I know it's been a while, but you don't have to worry. I'm still here :)
Yesterday I went to see Arctic Monkeys in Brussels.
They're without a doubt my favourite band in the world and it was the first time I saw them live. I must say, they exceeded all my expectations.
They started it of with a bang b-b-bang! The first song they did was Do I Wanna Know? which is also the first song on their new album AM. That immediatly got the audience in the mood and hungry for more tunes. They didn't forget about their other albums though and played some great songs such as Brianstorm and Crying Lightning.
The band has always said that they enjoy coming to Belgium and play here, so ofcourse they said these cheesy things during the concert. But the public absolutely went crazy when Alex asked: "So what does Brussels think of the new album, ey?!"
The audience went absolute mad when he said "This is for all the ladies" and started playing I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor. The whole venue was dancing and jumping around, it was so cool!
They also did a few encores, I was so happy they did because they were amazing! They did this acoustic like version of Mardy Bum, which is one of my favourites, and it was so wonderful! I really want that on my iPhone!
They ended with Alex saying: "Thank you, we had a great time and we enjoyed playing for you people. You know, I am yours Brussels! But the question is... Are you mine?"
and ofcourse they started playing R U Mine? which is my absolute favourite song! They coulnd't have ended it any better!
So I guess I can say it was about the best performance I have seen so far! I recommend everyone to listen to AM and ofcourse their previous albums. I bet you'll love them!
