American Horror Story is not like all the other series you've seen. It's a mini-serie, with 13 episodes each season. Every season has a completely different storyline and characters but every season is a bit off (hey, it's American Horror Story!). Some of the actors who were in the first season, reappeared in the second and even third season but as a different character. There are 3 seasons so far but the third has only just begun.
The first season of AHS was about a family of three people (mum, dad and daughter) that moved in a beautiful old house. The price of this fantastic house was extremely low for what it was, so the saleslady tells them the previous owners of the house died in there. They buy the house anyway but soon enough they discover strange things. People being in their house they don't even know. Well, these people are ghosts. Ghosts of the previous owners AND the owners before that. You see, all the people that ever lived there were found dead. The deal with the house is: once you die in the house, you never get to leave. You're a ghost that appears to be a normal person in flesh and blood, but you can't get out of the house. This season is often called 'Murder House'. And so far, it's my favourite season.
The second season was titled 'American Horror Story: Asylum'. This season was set in a mental hospital called Briarcliff in the sixties. Of course, there was this mad man (a doctor) who experimented on the patients with weird injections and electroshocks. These patients mutated into hideous monsters and he kept them hidden. Meanwhile, there's this serial killer who skins women. The police thought they caught him and transported him to Briarcliff. But they had the wrong guy, he was completely innocent. His wife was murdered and skinned at home so they arrested him, but he kept babbling about being abducted by aliens... They also committed a female journalist who was a lesbian, just because she was a lesbian and they didn't want the world to know what they did with the patients. Together, the innocent man and the journalist, try to find ways to escape the institution.
Now, the third season is on and it's called 'American Horror Story: Coven'. Instead of ghosts and insane people, it's about witches now. There's this girl called Zoe who recently found out she's a witch. Her power is: when she has sex with people, they die (weird isn't it? I know). So she accidentally kills her boyfriend and is she is sent to a boarding school for 'exeptional girls'. There are three other witches, a headmistress (who is also a witch) and a supreme (that's a witch that possesses all the powers).
The first episode of Coven was A-MAZ-ING! I really think this is gonna be my favourite season. I'm already obsessed with the storyline and in love with the characters.
