About

Meet the blogger.
My name is Yente.
Born December 16th 1993 and I currently living in Belgium.
Student Communications at Thomas More College University.
I have one sister, her name is Stinn.
I have a pug, named Piper, who is my life. Hey, I didn't choose the pug life. It chose me.
HUGE geek. I'm actually not really a blogger but a Khaleesi.
Obsessed with London, next year I'll be spending three months there for my internship.
Hopeless wanderer and beauty addict.
Vegetarian, do believe it tastes great!

Why did you start a blog?
I have always loved writing. I'm really passionate about it and it gives me a lot of satisfaction. When I love something, I'll share my opinion with literally everyone I see. So I thought, why not let everyone know my opinion on stuff? Even people I don't know. Sharing means a lot to me and is very important. I am addicted to social media, so I know what I'm talking about. I have a lot of great things in my life right now, and I owe a big amount of them to social media. It means meeting new people, get involved.
I liked to be involved with other bloggers, I like to read what they have to say and I hope that people will also like and listen to what I have to say.

Why did you pick the name Arctic Birds?
I have a tattoo of three birds on my left wrist. I've always wanted a tattoo and I liked the idea of birds. They're kind of an inspiration to me because they travel a lot, which is what I intend to do.
Arctic Monkeys is my favourite band, so I thought 'why not replace Monkeys with Birds because of my tattoo?'
And so I did.

One quote to describe yourself with.
That would be most definitely be the quote I use on all of my social media platforms, which is a quote by F. Scott Fitzgerald:
I'm not sure what I'll do, but ― well, I want to go places and see people. I want my mind to grow. I want to live where things happen on a big scale.
Who is your style icon/idol?
My style icon is Zooey Deschanel. I literally love everything she wears and the way she does her hair and makeup. I love the way she acts and her idea of feminism.

Speaking of feminism, my idol is Beyoncé. She is everything a girl wants to be: strong, independent, beautiful, healthy, great dancer,... That's why this is my motto: "Always be yourself. Unless you can be Beyoncé, then be Beyoncé."
I like to give this a certain meaning. I like to believe that this means that you should try and work hard to be even better than yourself. The best version of yourself.
